Design Studio
Creating new products all the time isn’t easy – so how do Tigerprint do it?
Finding and developing that elusive spark of inspiration is the key to what the design studio do. Creative days, shopping trips, workshops and fun projects all help to keep the collective juices flowing. For instance, in the past the studio has sent all their designers up to Edinburgh College of Art for a week of design courses and student life rediscovery.
Their best creative project to date was last year’s Design Week Challenge. The designers in the studio split into groups and were given a budget to travel anywhere in the world for a truly inspiring week of creativity, hard work and fun. Trips to Thailand, Germany, Iceland, Sweden, Ireland and even Las Vegas followed, resulting in stories, inspiration and ideas from all around the globe.
Part of the success in the studio is that designers are given the ability and time to develop their talents whilst also building an understanding of commerciality and the Marks and Spencer consumer. Unlike many competitors, the studio doesn’t allow creativity to play second fiddle to productivity and it’s this design-led philosophy that makes Tigerprint and our products unique…
Tigerprint believe you can only develop great products by developing great designers.
