Last month Tigerprint set you a spring / summer 2016 inspired brief to design beautiful floral patterns for the Marks and Spencer customer.
Florals are a really popular subject and you didn't disappoint us with over 1400 entries. It's really brightened up the studio looking through all of the entries.
And the winner is...
This month our winning entry (see above) has been created by Charlie Taylor.
The judges loved Charlie's traditional painterly florals combined with a modern twist, it's a great move on. She's considered the background and made it an integral part of the design that works well with the florals. There are lots of interesting textures within the different patterns and icons, creating a beautiful layered effect.
Congratulations Charlie and we look forward to working with your design.
In addition, our judges selected 3 runners up (in no particular order).
The judges were really intrigued by Laura Fernandez's unusual approach to the brief. She's used a mixture of paper flowers, illustration and photography to create a really interesting pattern. The colour palette feels fresh and bright and the various layers draws the eye in.
Anne Lehman's floral pattern has a really fresh and vibrant colour palette, ideal for SS2016. There is a beautiful illustrative style to Anne's work and she's build up layers with block colour, simple lines and sketchy shapes. The composition flows and creates a lovely sense of fluidity.
We are always on the look out for a new ditsy floral and Catherine Cordasco's fresh green pattern really caught our eye. The simple design is beautifully executed and we love the colour palette mixed with the floral icons and motifs.
Congratulations to Charlie, Laura, Anne and Catherine.
A very big thank you to everyone who entered the competition.
The next competition, Make Your Mark is open for entries from 24th March 2015. .
Have a great day!
