This month Tigerprint were thrilled to set you a brief to design cute characters to help us to move on the range.
We had some great entries which pushed different styles and techniques, all great at addressing the occasion of the brief.
This month our winning entry (see above) has been created by Gina Maldonado. The judges loved the variety and range of characters within Gina's design. She has added lots of details into the image, creating areas of pattern. The placement is really interesting and shows off a number characters in different poses. The colour palette is lovely and fresh and the design would be great for kids. We look forward to working with Gina's design.
Congratulations, Gina Maldonado and we look forward to working with your design.
The judges all had a smile on their face when they saw Alex's crocodile. The dancing crocodile looks very cute in his pink tutu and it's great to see different animals being used. The composition of the character and sentiment work really well with the white space. It's great to see the hand-drawn type complimenting the image.
Claire has created 2 very cute bunnies for her entry. The judges liked the composition and the relationship between the characters and sentiment. The illustration style is minimal but effective.
Alex has shown a different style with her bear image. The bear on its own is very cute and looks ready for a party with his bow tie. The addition of the floral frame and 'Happy Birthday' finish off the image.
Who doesn't find a dancing koala bear cute? The judges love Ellen's cute character and it's a great variation to a bear. The style is graphic with a good use of colour and Ellen has created movement with the use of the hula hoops.
Congratulations to Gina, Alex, Claire and Ellen and a very big thank you to everyone who entered the competition.
The next competition, Christmas Typography, is open for submissions! You've got until Monday 29th September to enter.
Have a great day!
